Some dog breeds are known only in the country where they come from. In this article, we have collected four unusual and rare breeds that you may have never heard of before.
- Sapsari
These dogs are originally from Korea. The name of the breed is translated as “those who seek out spirits” – earlier these dogs were started as talismans, which were supposed to bring the owner good luck and drive away evil spirits. Sapsari are calm and peaceful, they are strongly attached to their owners, so they cannot be left alone for a long time.
- Phunsan
Another Korean breed that is considered the rarest of them all. These dogs are independent and willful, so they need an experienced trainer. With family, these pets are affectionate, and they get used to strangers for a long time. These dogs are very active, so you need to walk and play with them for a long time.
- Tornyak
This large dog is originally from Croatia. Initially, the breed was bred for shepherd work, so the representatives of the breed still feel great if they can fulfill their duties as shepherds. Living in an apartment is not suitable for them, they feel best in a large territory of a country house. These dogs are docile and reasonable, they can become good nannies for children, because out of habit they will try to “graze” them.
- Jamen Cooley
Another shepherd, but originally from Australia, where they are still very popular. This is an excellent family dog, it is smart, easy to train and primarily human-oriented. These pets are unpretentious, have good health and do not require any special care.
