In this Big on Beagles Rescue video, the Furever team caught up with Marna Gale, Founder at Pawsway Toronto, to talk about her rescue organization and its specialization in working with senior dogs, senior Beagles with chronic health issues, those requiring emergency surgery, and those suffering from emotional trauma.
I think people get this notion that anything over, well you find in shelters they’ll say that usually a dog over five years old doesn’t get the attention that the younger ones do when it comes to families coming into adopt. But for us, of course, five is a spring chicken. Beagles can live very long lives, they’re smaller breeds so they tend to live longer. You can usually expect to have some medical issues arise at about 12 years old, they start to fall apart like we do, but we’ve had a Beagle live to 20 years old in a rescue. They can be pretty amazing. We’ve had a lot 18, 17-18-19, so they can live very long lives. They just have so much love that they just keep going as long as they can.
We are a rescue agency for beagles experiencing troubled times.
